High-Traffic areas are places where many people walk in and out on a daily basis; this can attract dirt and dust onto your carpet. Worry not, for we have the best carpet-cleaning solutions that are gentle on your carpets and don't take much effort at all.
To make sure you get the ideal setting for your vacuum, raise it to its highest setting, turn it on and lower it until you feel the vacuum trying to escape from your grasp and move forward.
Dirt feels like a thousand tiny blades that like to cut into carpet fibers. This is why high-traffic area carpets will often appear less vibrant and more tired than the rest of the carpet. This is why it's recommended to vacuum high-traffic areas (such as living rooms, kitchens, hallways and dens) twice a week, and the rest of the carpet once a week to prevent build up of oily soils getting into your carpet.
When vacuuming, make sure you have a clean bag or filter. Having dirty bags or filters can render your vacuum ineffective, as it has to work twice as hard to pick up half as much dirt. Every three months, wash or replace bagless vacuum filters or replace the vacuum bags when they're nearly full.
You should vacuum your carpet slow enough to make sure it's sucking up as much dirt as it can. Make two slow rounds over these high-traffic carpets, as it is more effective than going over a spot quickly.
To keep dirt away from the carpeting, you can get walk-off mats. Coarsely textured mats can remove soil while water-absorbent mats indoors can prevent the appearance of wet shoes on the carpet.
